Sat + Saunga
Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005 at 3:26 pmI would like to start a discussion about satsaunga. Anyone like to give some input? What is it? Have you even experienced it? Is there anything about satsaunga that you expect or expected. Have your expectations been realized? What element of satsaunga do you think has been left out? Let me hear from you!

Satsaunga - the inspirational company of others.
I certainly notice it when it is gone - when I am in a place away from friends, or even strangers who I can connect with.
Satsaunga gives me a chance to accept others and to be accepted myself, to realise that we are all in this cosmic play together.

As individuals we can create, with our thoughts, words or
actions. But as a group this effect is much stronger. Ain’t that
why we are consciously or unconsciously always looking for a group we can fit in, for example by dressing the same way or
following the same philosophy, etc.?
Not only do we inspire each other, but also the creation
becomes synergetic. Kiirtan is a good example of this,
doing it together with equally minded people, or just by myself makes such a difference. All those positive vibrations surrounding me.. hmmm, I love it

Being in a sentient environment is conducive to this lifestyle as is satsaunga. Constant awareness/ rememberance of the Supreme transforms my approach to everything and everyone. That which was once mundane and a ‘drag’ becomes joyous as we move with the flow. For me, satsaunga is a reminder. A reinforcer. A powerful merger. The subtlety of tantra is ever present amidst those who practice it. When the environment changes, we need to remind ourselves of it all as we are no longer immersed in it. This is why retreats can be so potent and why we can experience so much clash when we come back to our regular lives. Even though everything is Brahma. Satsaunga works for me as a powerful yet subtle aid.
